I always loved to draw and create art. In college I studied Ceramics and Illustration, graduating from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. After working many years in the corporate world my husband and I moved to the Florida Keys and I rekindled my interest in art focusing on Acrylic / Mixed Media painting. We have called these beautiful islands our home for more than 6 years.
Working with Acrylic, Charcoal and other mediums, I try to portray the beauty of the islands and the diverse natural world. My paintings tell stories of nature being nature.
You will often see Mangroves featured in my work. It is so inspiring to enjoy a quiet paddle through tunnels, or a lazy snorkel expedition anywhere in the Keys. There are so many ways to get out in nature here and I love them all! My favorite is to boat to a rookery right around sunset to watch all the birds coming in for the night.
