SCULPTURE
Debbie Fritts
Debbie is a Key West-based artist who specializes in hand-cut miniature houses. She was originally influenced by her Mother who was also an artist and really honed her craft out of necessity raising four children.
Debie had a wood shop in the 1990s here on the island and started making the homes from a lady who gave away Dade County Pine. She loves to up-cycle Dade County Pine. Her art is adorned with shells, scrolled resin palm trees, and added details for a whimsical feel. She takes the remnants of the houses being renovating her and creates the most wonderful pieces. Some including wood from old fences, nails from old Key West ships, and many other just one-of-a-kind up-cycled pieces to include in her miniature homes found here at the Collective.
Her most sought-after pieces at the Collective our her renditions of famous landmarks like the Ernest Hemingway House, Green Parrot Bar, and Harpoon Harry's. Debie also welcomes custom conch house orders. You can get your very own conch house created. Or literally, take a piece of Key West home with you!
