William Bradley Thompson Key West Artist
From the beginning, William Bradley Thompson (American, b.1966) has combined his Hudson River Valley cradle in a stained glass pre-Revolutionary war farmhouse with the heat of the tropics. Thompson mines his childhood memories for his work to produce a wealth of brilliant, multicolored images, which engross and provoke.
He studied art at Trinity University, where he developed his unique style while pursuing a degree in law. Though he spent several years working as a lawyer, he eventually left his practice to become an artist full-time.
Thompson combines abstract and experimental forms with bright colors and has been described as a Postmodernist and Post-Impressionist, painting and drawing in a variety of media, including watercolors, oil pastels, acrylics, and oil paint sticks.
He has exhibited his work in the Virgin Islands, Texas, North Carolina, and New England. In addition, his works can be found in corporate and private collections throughout the United States and Europe. He has also been published by numerous groups and organizations, including the San Antonio Convention Bureau, The Las Casas Foundation, Trinity University, Campbell University, and A.H. Riise.
